“Goodbye” (after Akhmadulina) at Poem-A-Day

Delighted to have my poem/adaptation “Goodbye” as the “Poem-A-Day” feature today. It’s a free adaptation of Bella Akhmadulina’s 1960 poem “Прощание,” which is probably best known in English through Jean Valentine’s 1966 adaptation, also called “Goodbye.” My thanks to the Academy of American Poets and to their splendid guest editor Randall Mann.

Way back in 2011, my poem “Trip Hop” was also featured in the Poem-A-Day series.
