Delighted that one of my Umberto Saba translations, “The Closed Chapel,” was chosen by the current US Poet Laureate Arthur Sze for inclusion in Best Literary Translations 2026, forthcoming in April from Deep Vellum (but available for pre-order now). This is the third edition of this annual anthology, which brings a much-needed dose of internationalism to the old “Best American” anthology tradition.
