Looking forward to reading with my former student Elizabeth Muscari and Arkansas-Tech poetry professor Tori Sharpe tomorrow at the Mosaic Templars Cultural Center in Little Rock. Muscari and Sharpe were the other two recipients of the latest—and last—Individual Artist Fellowships in poetry from the Arkansas Arts Council; our state leaders, in their wisdom, have decided to put an end to the individual grants, which have been offered for forty years, since Bill Clinton was governor.
